An atypical and “techno” look at Tokyo. It´s a video diary from a travel series that gives carte-blanche to a director to visit his destination of choice, alone and armed only with a Digi-cam. This approach is intended to breathe new life into travelogue. Does it succeed?

Documentary
Denmark, March 1998. The general election was unusually focused only on two candidates: the Social Democratic prime minister and his rival from the liberal party. The event ended in a highly dramatic duel between the two opponents. A television crew was allowed to follow these two main characters everywhere during the final three weeks of the election. There were no closed doors or secret meetings. The drama is concentrated backstage, on the events with advisors and party colleagues and the way they treated the media. The immediate access to this nervous and hectic election fight would not be possible without a contemporary digital mini camera. This new technique allowed the filmmaker to be mercilessly close to the candidates –when they are making plans in their cars, in back of the meeting halls, during the running in the streets to catch their supporters, and more. The enormous amount of footage was excellently condensed and edited in a very modern way for a classical drama that never loses identity.

Adults tend to go mute when children raise questions on sex, illness or death. Come on, let´s admit it! So a major challenge is to tackle these subjects effectively for television. In a touching (and shocking) piece, broadcast in prime time, Tatyana takes both parents and children into the most intimate thoughts regarding her mother´s terminal disease.
