Reaching and appealing to young audiences can be a challenge for Public Service Media (PSM). In this session, PSM hands it over to young creators. Expect whacky humour, fast-paced editing, football stars from YouTube, and millennial angst. Is this strategy working? Are these series different from ‘traditional TV’? What kind of relationship do broadcasters establish with these young creators? What can PSM learn from new talent (and vice versa)? Are these series only for the young, or can they attract a mainstream audience? This session features three series that explore new forms of storytelling and new imaginaries to capture the attention of Gen-Z, Gen-Y and beyond.
