History is always the result of accounts, it is never neutral. Conscious or unconcious intentions, however valid, predate the construction of the historical account. The witnesses relate their stories. The investigation links the fact and makers of this history. The trial decides on the historical truth and learns from it. The museum provides an image of History. And, in the films, the directors make their own accounts. It´s useful highlight their point of view and understand the way they use the witnesses´ stories. In this way we can draw nearer to an intelligent understanding of History. It´s both vital and stimulating.
