What happens when friends film friends? Fiction and documentary are transformed. Small digital cameras allow film makers to enter their own worlds and be enveloped in the story. The trust formed from established relationships allows the invisible wall between recorder and subject to disappear, resulting in a transparency that is stronger than the best fiction - documentary is beautifully unselfconscious, fiction is no longer 'fake'. When friends film friends are they exploiting their old relationships? Or are they able to get to a deeper truth and reveal the unseen? How did these film makers do it? What is the complicity all have with the camera? What is the responsibility they feel? And how have the broadcasts affected them and their friends?
