There are films that almost make us forget that there is a difference between reality and fiction. But how real and authentic can fiction films get? And how do their makers try to achieve that feeling of reality? The three films in this session display different ways: shot on DV or 35mm, in colour or black and white, with a shaky hand camera or very carefully framed images. However, improvised acting seems to be a crucial element in all of them. To what extent do the actors become the authors of their character and how does this affect the screenplay? How far can you go in merging reality and fiction?
