But, history is often a tale written by the victors, whereas it is the individual and collective memory that keeps history alive and allows us to re-examine and question our own perceptions. The details of memory fl esh out and bring to life the austere historic facts. But can we rely on the accuracy of memory? Is it important to bridge the gap between official history and the more subjective memory?
