Max Ernst’s famous collages, THE WOMAN WITH 100 HEADS inspired these piano preludes by his contemporary, American composer Antheil. This program sets up an unexpected dialogue between music and image in the surrealistic manner in which both works were conceived. Coping with new music and improvisation is even more difficult. SUBLIME MOMENTS is daring and courageous in its approach. Two young musicians, a trombonist and a cellist, engage in a musical conversation that gradually becomes a game, a game that illuminates the fascinating and mysterious art of the improvising musician.
