This session will provide insights into last year’s successful TV formats worldwide. The short survey reflects most notably the dynamics of the international audiovisual markets. At the same time it provides information about content that — not only but often — is successful with commercial competitors in the respective markets. This competition from commercial media houses may foster creativity in public broadcasters. It may trigger counter-programming strategies. It may give an outlook on which formats have the potential to travel and hence will arrive in our respective markets. Be it as original adaptations or as inspired copycats.
