Any deviation from “normality2 has been considered Taboo for years and kept off the screen. However more and more programmes are dealing with these “taboos”—pornography, homosexuality, double-personality, handicaps and transvestism. These programmes often raise disturbing questions on ethics and image making. TV can disturb—for good and for bad… Should public TV destroy those taboos, is this a legitimate and genuine challenge for change or is TV becoming a voyeuristic instrument? In session 1 we will look at straight forward documentation of pornography in a way that could be shown in much of the world ant at portraits of people with physical and mental handicaps.
