Good drama always involves a philosophical dilemma, but presenting complex cultural concepts on TV seems to be a great challenge. There are many ways of telling a story, depending on cultural and geographical origins. These three programmes come from different literary/dramatic cultures and present unconventional story-telling. They deal with such intellectual subjects as Goethe´s troubled relationship with Lenz, the spiritual crisis of a professor, and the attitude towards life and death in Mexican culture.
