This is the first tv show in Catalonia starring a personwith Down Syndrome: 32-year old Eloi Collell. Althoughhe had already been in front of a camera, this is his firstproject as a presenter. Until now Eloi dedicated most ofhis time to swimming (holding various Special Olympicsmedals) and had never thought about this job. Afterthis experience, he is fascinated with the power of themicrophone and is eager to do it again.Down Syndrome is part of Eloi’s character, but it is notthe main theme here, instead, it serves as a starting pointfor breaking taboos and stereotypes. Eloi transports theaudience to his reality through simple questions that are,at the same time, poignant, vital, and direct.He asks questions that most people take for granted.In each 30 min episode, he raises one question.Why Do Airplanes Fly? tries to find answers in a fun anddifferent way with interviews filmed in singular scenariosand sometimes it even puts itself in the shoes of theprotagonists leaving their comfort zones and followingthem through their diverse routines.To obtain the answers, Eloi interviews prominent, familiarfaces, like the current Barça coach Xavi Hernández orthe famous chef Carme Ruscalleda or unknown people,such as Valerio N’Dongo, who talked about his experienceof living in an ATM for years. In each episode, there isadditionally the voice of an expert or specialist.
