The children of Felgueiras: from school to factory

The report was filmed in Portugal in 1989 at Easter, north of Pate in a Labour city, “Jean Paul II”. It is a recent city where majority of its inhabitants, children as well as adults, work in shoe factories implanted in the region. During the school period the children work as soon as they come in front school. Needless to say that the results at school are strongly felt. Their future is already lined out. They know they will work in the factory.
