“The Press Club” is a meeting of well-known journalists, writers, politologists, etc., who gather in television studios to discuss reports on a subject which have been filmed beforehand. This particular issue of “The Press Club” is dedicated to the ethics of the journalists, the problem of responsability for their reports. TV journalist Boris Sobolev filmed a woman who tried to sell him her own baby, and them he informs the militia against the woman. It is an original talk show. The guest participants, presenters and experts of “The Press Club” discuss the sharpest and most painful subjects and problems with their colleagues from the press and electronic mass-media. There is a particular point given to these discussions by the leading Russian politicians, economists, businessmen, scientists and writers who also take part in them. In 1997, the program was aired on ORT once a month. It´s possible that in 1998 “The Press Club” will be aired live in a bigger format.
