Everyday actions and activities that people around theworld have practiced for decades, if not centuries, weresuspended or changed or forever abandoned during thefirst months of the pandemic. After the spring of 2020and the quarantine across Canada, we decided to lookat some of these regular rituals that so many of us didwithout really thinking about it, and how the pandemicchanged our perspective on them. We dove into howthey came about in the first place, how they developedinto something we took for granted, what they mightlook like in the future ‘after’ the pandemic, or even ifwe would ever feel safe doing these activities like we didin ‘the old days’. In this series, we looked at handshakes,working in offices and going out to nightclubs.Uytae Lee usually delves deep into specialty issuesaround urban planning - so this is a departure from hisusual interests. Since 2019 Uytae has been working underthe CBC Creator Network initiative, working with youngindependent diverse emerging filmmakers, creators andstorytellers to bring their unique perspectives to asmany CBC platforms as appropriate depending on thetopic. All three videos were seen on TV News, cbc.ca, allour social platforms and Uytae also appeared on Radio totalk individually about the three topics in the series overthree weeks.
