Rona, a lonely and cynical girl whose older sister was murdered at the Nova Festival on 7.10.2023 distances herself from her parents and friends and refuses help. Her grief is fresh, burning. But then, in preparations for the Memorial Day ceremony at her school, she meets Oren, whose officer father was killed when he was a small child. At first they don’t get along but circumstances concerning the school Memorial ceremony force them to collaborate, get to know each other, open up, and create a common language and humour for themselves, confront their loss, memory, beliefs and all the things that were lost. The fiction series is the first of its kind to tell the story of October 7th. It is a groundbreaking and touching coming-of-age mini-drama that deals with pain and bereavement and with the difficult question of how to move on after such a terrible loss, and whether to move on at all. Through the story of Rona and Oren, the series deals with themes rarely discussed on children’s television: loss, grief and coping with severe trauma. It allows its young audience to deal with difficult feelings, process their thoughts and open a dialogue about mental health and emotional resilience. Since its airing, it has garnered much media attention and has enjoyed great success among the young audience.
