This fiction series, made for the deaf community inColombia, tells the story of Sandra, a teenager whohas a hearing disability since birth. She wants toparticipate in a dance contest to be held in her city.But her mother prevents her from registering becausefor fear of seeing her daughter suffer and to bediscriminated against because of her condition. Withthe help of her uncle and her best friend, Sandra will doeverything possible to participate in the contestand show all her talent.The series was designed for the deaf community,which shows their emotions, shortcomings and thedemonstration that listeners are important in thecommunication process and the development they mayhave in their personal lives.It also focuses on family dynamics, the difficultiesthat arise at home when parents do not understandtheir children’s dreams and especially when there arecommunication problems, not only from anatomicaldifficulties, but also from the lack of understandingon both sides. The series has more than 70 percent ofthe dialogues in Colombian Sign Language andits protagonist, Gabriela Troyano, is deaf in real life.With this role, Gabriela was nominated for the 2021India Catalina Awards for Best Child Talent.
