Desert wastes or floodwaters

At the beginning of this century, one –third of the world’s land surface was covered with forests. Mankind will have reduced this figure to one-sixth before the country ends. This is the amount he will hand on to the coming generations. Taking the Amazon, the last great stretch of primeval forest still in existence, as its main illustrative scene, this film shows the damage that modern civilization has done to the environment – a warning to the 21st century.
