After 14 years, Mai Masri, a Palestinian film-maker returns to her hometown of Nablus, on the West Bank. She discovers that her uncle’s neighbor has just been shot dead by Israeli soldiers and that the whole town is under curfew. “Children of fire” is a personal view into the lives of the children of the Palestinian uprising growing up in occupied Nablus. It was shown on BBC2 on 22 October, 1991, at 7:15 pm. It received very favorable press reviews in all the major British papers. Both the BBC and the producer received dozens of phone calls and letters of support from viewers all over the U.K.
