You Can’t Say That maps the most politically and socially contentious issues facing American society and demonstrates how an unconventional approach — breaking the barriers of political correctness — promotes honest dialogue. The series explores themes of social identity through the experience of six college students on a semester-long journey to understand their own unrealized biases toward people of different cultures, religions, races, and genders. Through a dynamic, sometimes confrontational set of classroom exercises in a room of 700 peers, students are put on the spot and asked to undertake activities — in front of those peers — that ask them to dig deep and expose their biases so that we may bring the issues to the table and face ourselves.
