A film about one life, two people, and a family – Linda’s and Leif’s. On June 17th 1983, 29 years old mechanic Leif Birkman Hansen was struck down by a blood clot while he was on holiday in Italy with his wife and two children. For 12 months he lay in bed totally cut off from his surroundings; all he could do was to open and close his eyes and move one thumb. In 1984 some therapists came into contact with Leif and constructed a computer programme which made it possible for him to “speak”. “Yesterday…” shows 4 years of the life of Linda and Leif, and is built up around the many thousand pages Leif has written via his printer.
