White Marble

A tragicomedy about old age, love and pig-headedness. It´s a warm summer night. Ossi and Nelly arrive at a rehabilitation centre to celebrate Ossi´s 75th birthday. During the celebration, Ossi suddenly disappears. Nobody knows where. Ossi checks into a hotel under an assumed name, buys a train ticket to a place for away in the north and starts to fulfill everyone´s eternal dream: to become somebody else, even if for just a moment. To be crazier, wiser, bigger. Ossi wants to make an inventory of his life, but his past is not as he thinks it was. White Marble is a story about an couple´s last passions. Ossi and Nelly have been married for forty years, but it is amazing how little they know about each other. The drama was awarded Prix Italia for the best TV drama in 1999.
