Useless works

During the season 1990/91, every Sunday evening in the daily news program, 5’ were dedicated to the issue of the useless public investments in Belgium. Roads and Bridges leading nowhere, Public houses richly built and abandoned having been never used, and so on: the program was a whole surrealist catalogue of the thousand ways for politicians to throw public money through the windows. Example of investigation journalism, very personal intonation, permanent recourse to humour and provocation, comedy technics, the program got a large audience and success. Every week it was followed the Monday evening on radio with a debate on the issues showed the day before on TV. Also followed by the publication of a book that program created large and passionated debates among population and politicians.
