Chechnia in April 1995 is a place and a time of war the world has largely forgotten. As the Russian troops advance over the plains, award-winning filmmaker Clive Gordon tells the story of a group of Russian mothers seeking their soldier sons they believe have been captured by the Chechens. Abandoned by the authorities, they place their trust in Russian liaison officer Kosov, who keeps their hopes alive until, finally, through the front lines, in a war where everyone is betrayed, the final betrayal of all is played.
