Tricky Life

Elisa (27) dreams of opening her own hairdressing salon in one of Montevideo's affluent districts. A bit of a rebel, she moves out of her mother’s house with her 2 children. Next day, she breaks up with Garcia, her boss and lover. He's found every way possible to avoid the subject of marriage and Elisa has lost patience. So, in the space of 24 hours, Elisa finds herself without a roof over her head, without a man, without a job and without money. Her best friend Loulou finds her a job... in a brothel run by Doña Jaqueline. It is a job she finds she is rather good at, and she manages to convince her pimp and lover Placido to take her and Loulou to Barcelona, where she dreams she will earn the thousands of dollars needed to start up her salon. However, in Barcelona the situation is far from fun; the problems between the prostitutes and the police escalate, Elisa finds out that Placido never sent any money to her kids and Loulou is killed on the streets. The only thing Elisa really wants is to get back to Uruguay to be with her kids.
