The sky is never blue. It is orange and on fire. It is a sky in Eastern Europe. Coal is the evil culprit – and the source of livelihood too. The mines are working to full capacity. Youngsters of 19, who might perhaps have rebelled against it all, lie in the churchyard. Babies are poisoned even before birth. The children who survive play in the toxic dust. “Triangle of death” is an environmental horror story from East European reality. But why is the film so beautiful and suggestive when the deadly message of reality stares us coldly in the face? Is the viewer manipulated by the images and music?
