TONESPOR is an animated visualization of the flowing patterns, which form the structure of symphonic music. Each group of instruments has its own specific colour, and in the beginning the strings calmly assemble the other instruments into a main theme. After this the dynamics and tempo are increased until 115 sound figures form the violent Coda. In spite of its appearance, the programme is not electronic, but drawn by hand in order to take account of the emotional language of the music. There have been made 57.000 single exposures in order to achieve the motion. TONESPOR can be understood and “experienced” of music experts as well as by those who are tone-deaf, but even a trained listener can by “seeing” polyphony “hear” the tone figures, who easily get lost in the mass of sound.
