The main objective of this series of short dramas in to provoke discussions about the modern themes of bioethics. No solutions are offered and all the film end with a dilemna which the viewer 'experiences' through the power of images. Bioethics is like a network of synapsys in the brain. Its goal is to widen and deepen comunication between all those involved in the drama of helping others live or die with dignity. Bioethics promotes this comunication on the assumption the the 'right' answer for a particular patient is already contained in his total biography. In this short provovative film, a child is born with no clearly defined sex. Experts discuss at length about the 'right ' solution: shall they 'make' a man or woman? Meanwhile, life goes on in a society where violence and misery still largely prevail amongst shattered families. The other interesting aspect of this drama is it narrative style. How do you tell a story on such a broad theme in 12 minutes?... A serie of interwoven 'tableaux' in which charecters, costumes, sets and sound track relate more to a world of archetypes than to realistic situations appears to be a very afficient solution.
