The quiet killer

The film is about a Turkish vengeance killing that took place in Copenhagen in autumn 1986. The perpetrators – five brothers and their father - were arrested, convicted, and sentenced to between 6 and 8 years imprisonment. We tell the story behind these dramatic events, a story that starts with two families in a village a couple of hundred kilometers south of Ankara. A number of violent events led up to the murder in Denmark. The programme is about honor, the concept is forgotten in our part of the world, yet no so distant after all. Honor as a tangible substance, something one is born with, something one can lose completely or in part, something you must defend against assaults by other people. And of course the program also looks at the recurrent confrontation between the old system of justice and the organized modern judicial system, where going around killing each other is not accepted.
