'The fishing part' was made in an attempt to understand the get-rich ambitions of 4 young men who work the financial fields of Thatcher´s England. For a television documentary team to gain access is difficult, for suspicion of the media - an almost unanimous belief that it is left-wing dominated- permeates the exclusive groups of self- interest that populate the financial markets within the City of London. What the film reveals is an arrogance- a belief in the divine right of rule, an intolerance of all those who are not 'one of us', a phrase made popular by the present Prime Minister, probably the only woman admired by the chauvinist foursome as they trawl the Scottish waters on an indulgent spree. By the trip´s end they have caught nothing worthwhile but they have revealed through their black humour the fashionable face of the New Right in Britain.
