2009, somewhere in Europe...Arthur is a very busy man.He shoots all day long, or rather he wipes people out, coldly, without any qualms. Arthur is a “ferret”: every evening he hands in the fruit of his day’s work 8his victims’ number tags) and picks up his contracts for the following day.The State has made a deal with the population: in exchange for health care, a home and food, people have democratically accepted the idea of having their number drawn to be eliminated as a solution to the problem of an ever-increasing population. The ferrets are expected to do their job cleanly, painless and by surprise. But one day Arthur and Lilas’ eyes meet. Arthur is supposed to wipe Lilas out. Arthur cannot kill Lilas. He loves her and she loves him. Love is the grain of sand that gets into the machinery of State.
