The arms talk - Part III

This was a three-part program on the arms control process that coincided with the resumption of the arms talks in Geneva. Using a set and “negotiators”, we went through the complicated issues that will be on the table at Geneva. The set included models representing the type of arms that were being discussed, to graphically demonstrate numbers and capabilities. The programs were broken up into three parts: Part I dealt with European (IMF) forces. Part II with strategic arms, Part III with SDI.This intent of the program was to take the enormously complicated issues the arms negotiators have to deal with and explain them to our audience in a way that could be understood. By using the format we did, we were able to discuss the issues in an understandable way without oversimplifying.
