The almost true story of Pepita the gunwoman

A fictional version of a real crime story. A young woman with a child and a suitor who is a publisher is ashamed and weary of her impoverished situation. She achieves notoriety as a robber of credit outlets which employ only women. In doing so she compulsively explains her predicament to the female clerks she robs who respond sympathetically. A combination of farce, television notoriety and a willingness to confess lead to a prison sentence that is longer than would normally have been the case for the robberies she committed.
