The Zone

The Zone is an austerely visual film that throws a nerve-racking and revealing light on a typically Dutch phenomenon, 'de afwerkplek,' roughly translatable as 'come place.' The camera, often filming from behind the windscreen of a car, shows the isolated outdoor locations where prostitutes gratify their clients from the man´s standpoint. The statements from interviews give a humiliating picture from the prostitutes´ perspective.
