“The thin blue line”, released this fall is a riveting piece of non-fiction in which director Errol Morris (“Gates of heaven”) utilizes elements of drama and documentary to tell an alarming, true story --- a man on death row in a Texas prison appears to be innocent. “The thin blue line” traces the sad story of Randall Dale Adams, a seemingly harmless drifter who was arrested for the killing of a Dallas police officer in 1979. Adams is still serving a life sentence for a crime he to this day denies committing. “The thin blue line” re-examines the evidence that led to Adams’ conviction, using real-life interviews with Adams himself and another man who claims to have been with Adams when the gun went off. In addition, Morris uses highly stylized dramatizations of various events leading up to the shooting which are chilling in their own right.
