What did in fact happen in Seveso that day in July 1976, 10 years ago, when the safety disc on a local chemical factory bursted? For a moment it caught the attention of the world, when the mass media reported about a whole village polluted by diozin, the most dangerous poison created by man. But what has happened since that to the people, who lived there? The film describes five families, their fears, their doubts and ongoing feeling of living in a contaminated home. And it tests the official explanation that fortunately none was hurt by the accident, which could not have been foreseen. The mass media has described the events after the accident in scientific terms. The truth is what can be measured. In this film the so-called scientific facts are confronted with the fears of some of the inhabitants, and the value of science is tested against the human factor.
