The Gentles

The film is the story of a strange journey. After the death of their mother, the three Szelíd brothers (The Gentles) hit the road. Amid exciting and upsetting experiences, they travel across the country, meet various people, have tragic and grotesque adventures. However, what happens to them is nothing more than, or different from the everyday events of our confused world – of Hungary after 1989. The brothers´ final destination is the sea, where the whole family was together for the last time, and from where they returns as grow up men. The creators attempt to draw the picture of our times after the communist era, after the great changes. At first these changes seem to bring filth to the surface everywhere, but in the end, intelligence and humanity are able to prevail.
