The Dutch Master

Teresa is a dental hygienist from Brooklyn, on the brink of marriage to a traffic cop. A few weeks before the wedding, she starts acting very strange... Teresa and her girlfriends always eat their lunch on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum. One day –for the first time in her life- Teresa decides to go inside! She joins a group of visitors studying Peter de Hooch´s painting, “The Drinker” –and she is spellbound by the handsome young dutchman in the picture. She takes her friends to see the painting –but they fail to see its charm and leave. When Teresa turns to go, she hears laughter... the painting has come to life! On her next visit to the museum, the young man in the painting winks at Teresa and invites her to step into their world. Meanwhile, Teresa´s friend and family are getting very worried... her wedding is approaching fast. Teresa sneaks into the museum at night and watches the Dutch couple making love until she faints, only to be discovered by a museum security guard. To everyone´s horror, Teresa fails to turn up her own wedding.
