In 1994, the Swiss Police arrested 4 former militants in left wing movements, suspected of being friends of Carlos who had just recently been arrested and extradited to France for acts of terrorism. These four Swiss were accused of assisting Carlos and building up a support network in Switzerland at the beginning of the Seventies. The Police substantiated their accusations with STASI files. Held in secret for several days, kept in detention for several weeks, these 4 people were released after some months without being charged. Télévision Suisse Romande carried out an investigation with a view to understanding the motivations of the Police and the extent of the grounds for these suspicions. It paints the portrait of a generation of young militants who, in the Sixties and Seventies, engaged in political action against the State, some of them even attempting terrorism. Through them, TSR asks questions about the reason for their commitment, the temptation of violence which gripped a generation and the reasons for turning away from it. Basing the programme on numerous documents and the evidence of witnesses, TSR paints the portrait of an epoch.
