Without disguising either voices or faces this film presents the personal testimonies of 14 Israeli soldiers from widely varied social backgrounds, regular army and reserve, private through colonels, all of them share a background of extended military duty in the occupied territories during the Intifada. Seated on a witness stand against a plain backdrop they converse with an interviewing team led by a clinical psychologist. In this minimalist setting, they provide an intimate and extraordinary portrait of their activities and the moral and emotional divisions which some of them experienced. Some are confronted with film of the beatings the army inflicted on unarmed prisoners. This program has yet to be shown on any Israeli television network. However, there have been some public screenings which have received both praise and criticism.
