Steps

Steps, show #303 of the Alive from off centre series, explores the frontier of state-of-the-art technology. Directed by Zbigniew Rybczynski,Steps takes off in an unexpected direction form the famous “Odessa Steps” sequence in Sergei Eisenstein’s classic masterpiece The Battleship Potemkin. Using process he has developed to combine old flim images with new video images, Rybczynski causes unexpected things to happen as a group of America tourists show up at the Odessa Steps just as the Cossacks are about to fire on the strikers.
