Matabb - Arabic for ’’Speed Bump,’’ is an all-new Palestinian TV series. The title is derived from the notorious and randomly built speed bumps on Palestinian streets. The title metaphorically refers to the ups and downs in the life of its protagonists. The setting is one of the abundant nongovernment organizations (NGO) in Ramallah, which are mainly funded from abroad. The series refl ects the daily life of the Palestinians and goes beyond that to discuss the sensitive cultural issues of the community. The series was produced with a Palestinian crew, some of whom had never been in a professional production before. The PBC banned the series from broadcasting for three weeks until they made some changes and cut some scenes.
