In South, Chantal Ackerman (multi-award-winning feature and documentary director) conjures the ghosts of the hate crimes and lynchings that have plagued that part of the US. More precisely, South examines the impact on the community of the rural town of Jasper, Texas, after the James Byrd, Jr. murder that shocked the US and the rest of the world.
