Sharkey's day

The music video pushes the new genre beyond the limitations of simply adding illustration to a song. Combining live action, film animation, and state of the art video effect techniques, Laurie Anderson has created a program consistent with her artistic work in other forms. This piece has received wide acclaim, and unlike most music video, has been acquired for the libraries and collections of many universities and museums, notably the Chicago Institute of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. It was also chosen as part of the 1984 Olympic Arts Festival, Los Angeles, California.
