Shaman

The mythical songs and shamanistic rituals of the Nganasan reflect in the young shaman apprentice as he moves through past – present – future. The knowledge of his ancestors guides hem over the shimmering Siberian tundra as he finds his path towards insight and enlightment. This film is dedicated to the Nganasan and their poetry which has travelled through centuries into our time. Recorded at the Taimyr-peninsula Northern Siberia in 1993 – August – October.
