The documentary “sex, Lies and... Computers” was produced and directed by Mario Conforti and Luciano Rigolini for the Swiss Italian Television´s cultural magazine “REBUS”. The world main pioneers of electronic sex collaborated to the realization of this film. The documentary underlines today´s intrinsic erotical nature of the relationship between man and machines. “Hardocre overalls for distance sex. Soon we will not make love to one person, we will not need blodd and flesh partners. We will make love using astonaut overalls provided with sensors and vibrators, directed from a distance by a computer.” There is a growing interest in newspapers and magazines about the so-called “Cybersex” which reveals the fascination of contemporary man for sex and technology. The success of erotic of erotic telephone lines, the success of pornographic computer´s programs, the telematic networks for adults, the very new interactive technologies and other cases seem to prove that the new frontier of pleasure goes through the machine´s circuits and keys. How we arrived at this point? Who is proclaiming the benefit of technological sex? And why? Will we truly end up loving our computers? To answer this questions, as Mario Conforti and Luciano Rigolini do in the documentary “Sex, Lies and... Computers”, means to look frankly into our relation with pleasure, and at the same time to meditate upon new and maybe alarming aspects of the deepest vital impulse of the human being.
