Sandra, a love story

This series of six 90´ films shows six children shaken by dramatic events which turn their existence upside down and precipitates them in the tough world of the grownups´ passions. Each film reflects also on the problems which children and adolescents must confront today, like discriminations of all kinds, adoption, divorce, or failure in school. Today, the rights of children are recognized, but this generates a lot of resistance and also of excess. The originality of this series, called the 'Melo-Melo' collection, might be in the positioning of the child as main character. 'Sandra, A Love Story' tells the story of a young trisomic girl of 16, sensitive and lively. The woman who plays the role is herself handicapped.
