In 2001 the leaders of the industrialized nations met in Genoa for their annual summit – and at the same time 300.000 antiglobalists met there to demand a more just world. Never before had so many people met for a demonstration – and never before had they been met with so much violence from the police, who were arresting and beating up protesters. This film investigates the background of the bloody riots. The authors speak with politicians and persons affected by the events, and they all wonder why the police was persistently beating up the wrong protesters, and why militant protesters from many European countries were able to get to the centre of town despite rigid control at the borders.
