Can the pace of life be any higher? Lack of time is a modern phenomenon. We are expected to experience as much as possible before we die. We are in a hurry, there is so much to experience and achieve. Stress is difficult to quantify, haste is just people rushing by. The films starting point is Gardermoen Airport, where we try to measure stress with a heat-seeking camera. We found Braathens Airlines employee George, who is responsible for getting the planes off on schedule. He does not always succeed. He is told off by travellers and does his best to respond in a polite manner. Wenche is seated at Gate 20. We have followed her this morning. She is a journalist and single mother. This has not been one of her best mornings. Her cell phone is not much help when her son is home alone, crying into the phone. The film is based on a principle that Milan Kundera introduces the book Slowness: 'There is a secret bond between slowness and memory, between speed and forgetting.' Clocks control everyday life. My question is whether we are losing something along the way. Where does all our time go? This programme offers a disturbing mirror of our urbane lifestyle through its impressive qualities and elegance.
