RIGHT TO REPY is possibly the only series of its kind, in which viewers take on the TV professionals in studio and make them accountable for their programmes. It also has the unique Video Box, an automatic do-it-yourself TV studio rather like a photo booth into which viewers can walk and make a minute’s worth of television. The programme is an important concept, fundamental to Channel 4’s philosophy and I think there would be much interest from programme makers from other countries in seeing it. This particular edition features Video Boxers complaining about the week’s output and a fiery discussion between Stanley Bailey, the Chief Constable of Northumbria Police and Director Ken Loach. Plus, Barry Cox from London Weekend Television criticizing the Broadcasting Complaints Commission.
