José Césarini and Jimmy Glasberg carried out an original experiment at the Baumettes prison. After several months training the inmates in the art of filmmaking, they directed a series of sequences depicting the daily lives of the prisoners, who alternated roles as actors and cameramen on a cell set built in a studio within the prison. The result is a series of intensely emotional moments: friendship, indifference, confrontation, solitude... fragments of everyday prison life.
